    Q. Who can benefit from Los Angeles Liposuction?

    Men and women of normal weight and in good health who have firm, elastic skin, but have stubborn pockets of excess fat in certain parts of their body: buttocks, abdomen, flanks ("love handles"), thighs, hips ("saddlebags"), upper arms, knees, breasts, chin ("double chins"), neck, cheeks, etc.

    The patient's age is not usually a factor, but it may not be suitable for older men or women whose skin is not elastic. Nor is it recommended for young children, anyone with such problems as diabetes, serious heart or lung disease, or poor circulation, or those who have recently had other surgery near the problem area.

    
    Q. What, exactly, is liposuction?

    "Lipo", according to the dictionary, is "a combining form meaning 'fat'" and "suction", of course, is "the act, process, or condition of sucking". Just as its name indicates, Los Angeles Liposuction is used to literally suck unwanted fat out of a designated area of the body.

Earlier forms of liposuction-also called lipoplasty or suction lipectomy- have evolved into today's refinements: ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), power-assisted liposuction (PAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, among others.

    During a confidential consultation with Dr. Vishal Kapoor, you will be advised as to which technique, if any, is best for you-depending on the location of the excess fat, the effectiveness of liposuction, its cost, its safety, and the likelihood of complications. If your excess fat is in your abdomen, you may be advised to have an abdominoplasty instead. Or perhaps a combination of traditional liposuction and UAL would be best.

    The procedure I'm having today is silicone breast implants.
    
    Dr. Kapoor---
    It's always a pleasure to see a new patient because they've gone out of there way to find us.
    
    I saw Monika and she came in interested in a breast augmentation procedure. When I sat down with her one thing to her that was important is that she look natural and she gain some fulness in her breast area without looking to top heavy.
    
    Monika---
    What set Dr. Kapoor out from other physicians is that he was just very personable, he was very real, just really nice. There wasn't a sales pitch. They're not just trying to bring money into the office. They really cared about me and the decision that I make knowing that this is a pretty big decision, I'm altering my body. It's going to be with me for thee rest of my life. It was just very personal and I really respected that.
    
    Dr. Kapoor---
    In terms of picking a good patient for surgery and making sure they're a suitable candidate. First and foremost make sure that they don't have a host of medical problems and the overall just have general good health. Specifically in Monik's case or in breast augmentation one thing that's important is that they have good skin quality as she has. Make sure that they don't need a breast lift cause that makes a completely different procedure. Probably most importantly is making sure that they have realistic expectations and goals.
    
    Monika---
    I'm about to go into surgery and I'm feeling very anxious, very nervous, very excited. I'm looking forward to the outcome and not looking forward to the uncomfort for the first couple days but I'm definitely feeling very excited.
    
    Dr. Kapoor---
    Our goal here at Beverly Hill Cosmetic Plastic Surgery is to deliver the highest quality of cosmetic surgery in terms of invasive and non invasive procedures.
    
    Dr. Kapoor in the Operating Room---
    What were going to do is just go in with a cautery and get down to the muscle and get under the edge of the muscle and basically develop that sub-muscular plain. That will allow me to pop right underneath the muscle pretty easily. You can see some of the muscle there. See some of the fibers of the pectoralis muscle.
    
    Dr. Kapoor---
    She was currently about an A cup in size and our goal was to be a small C. Her surgery was very smooth and we placed  350 cc implants just below the muscle.
    
    Dr. Kapoor in the Operating Room---
    Monika has a really nice result, largely because she started with a really nice shape. We just sat her up and made sure even thing looked even, they looked great, and I think she'll be really happy.
    
    Monika---
    I am absolutely ecstatic about the results of my breast augmentation and coming to Dr. Kapoor was perfect. It was a great experience overall. It was really comfortable, it was really easy. Even when I was a little bit nervous right before surgery I was very comforted with here. The office and the atmosphere and the people are just really friendly. So I just felt at piece and at ease with the decision I didn't feel really any nerves or any doubts at all.
    
    Dr. Kapoor---
    It's been 5 weeks since Monika's surgery and I had a chance to see here today and she's doing great. Her scars appear to be healing beautifully and her implants have settled in a good position and we actually had a chance to get some photos today and I've encouraged he to keep doing what she's doing. There's no limitations on her activities and it looks like she can just go on and enjoy her new body.
    
    Monika---

    For upper eyelid surgery, generally an incision is hidden within the natural fold of the upper eyelid and extends slightly beyond the outside corner into the laugh lines or other existing creases. Through this incision, excess skin and fatty tissue are removed. Because the incision follows the natural contour of the upper eyelid, it usually is inconspicuous.
    
    For lower eyelid surgery, often an incision is hidden just below the lower lashes. Through this incision, excess skin, muscle and fat are removed, or fat may be redistributed to eliminate puffiness or bulges.
